Can't forget about my new best friends...

Cool peterpan/tinkerbell statue

Some pictures!

Okay, so these are all of Queen's park, but isn't it great? I walk to and from work through this park most days.

Southland museum, on the edge of Queen's park.

Do Mimi and Mason need this? I think so...

The new living room set (don't you love the ottoman?)

1st month

So I've entered my fourth week in NZ. Thought it would be about time to check in on this blog!

I will start posting here more, focusing on my NZ travels and adjustment to this new world, so stay posted!

Weather has been VERY nice this week. Makes walking everywhere much more enjoyable. I've made lots of friends at Queen's park (they are all ducks!) and am really getting settled into my job. A new tutor in the department arrived some time today, so over the next week I will be able to get rid of two of the classes I am teaching. This is going to free up a lot of time to address other duties since I've been playing 'catchup' ever since I arrived.

I actually started in on my research project this week and am writing up a proposal to present at a conference in Rotorua in September.

Blah, blah, blah. Gotta get some pictures up, I know.

Cheers for now (gotta get to the movie theater!)!!!

Countdown to NZ

This blog is the journaling of my move to Invercargill, New Zealand. I leave in just over two days. Not looking forward to the flight, but I'm sure it will work out okay. As I am leaving my dig cam behind with my wife (until she joins me in June), the only pictures I will post are most likely stolen off of the net...
